General objectives

The aspirations of the National University of Colombia are :

•  To form free citizens and to promote democratic values, of tolerance and commitment with the civil duties and the human rights.

•  To form professionals and investigators on a scientific, ethical and humanistic bases, equipping them with a critical conscience, that allows them to be responsible in front of the requirements and tendencies of the contemporary world leading them creatively in to changing processes.

•  To form creative, productive, sensible and critical professionals with investigative spirit, social responsibility, compromised with improvement of life quality on ethical, humanistic bases with technical, economic and scientific criteria.

Specific Objectives

According to same agreement 27, the objectives of the program are the following:

•  To form professionals in the field of animal production under a social, economic connotation and a rational handling of the resources.

•  To prepare fundamentally the student in the conceptualization of the diverse aspects that involve the animal production, allowing them to estimate strategies to fit in the realities and specific necessities.

•  participate in a direct or indirect way in the implied process of searches and/or adjustments for more suitable technologies, to obtain rational livestock products that attempt an important social and economic value.
